Ascon S.p.a. manufactures programmable temperature controllers and process controllers for front panel and rear panel DIN rail mounting. Ascon’s programmable temperature controllers are suitable for industrial processes and machines and can be connected to any type of sensor such as Thermocouples, Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTD), Infrared Temperature Sensors, Strain gauges, Load cells and any standard linear analogic signal such as 4…20mA, 0…10V for the measurement of Pressure, Differential pressure, Melt pressure, Level, Humidity and Flow. The input of the programmable temperature controllers can also be connected to ‘custom’ signals that require a special linearization. Controllers also include auxiliary inputs for Remote Setpoint adjustment, Load current measurement via Current Transformer (CT) and actuator position feedback via a slide wire potentiometer. Digital inputs allow external commands such as switching from Auto to Manual mode, from local setpoint to remote set point. etc. Advanced PID algorithms for continuous, time proportioning, servomotor and heat/cool control assure control functions. Also available are Cascade control and Ratio / Bias control. Programmable setpoint control has up to 16 programs and 255 segments. Autotune is provided to support the operator during start-up. Outputs are available for control, alarms and retransmission of the process variable. Ouputs can be configured to be relay, SSR drive, SSR, TRIAC, logic, analogic mA or Volt signals. programmable temperature controllers and process controllers include up to 4 thresholds for the actuation of ISA alarms, limiters, signalizations and interlocks with relay contact outputs. Also available are Mathematical Package and Master or Slave serial communications with Modbus RTU protocol and PROFIBUS DP fieldbus. Configuration and parameterization can be performed via the keyboard or via PC with the ‘Controller Explorer’ software tool. Available front sizes are: 48X24 mm (1/32 DIN size), 48x48 mm (1/16 DIN), 48X96 mm (1/8 DIN), 96X96 mm (1/4 DIN) and 96X144 mm.
